Amazon may have poked a sleeping bear when it ended free Whole Foods delivery on Prime last September. A pair of class-action lawsuits are threatening to force the marketplace to refund potentially thousands of Prime customers for removing the service and tacking on a $9.95 service fee.

Navistar will destroy old engines, pay $52M to settle federal complaint

Navistar Inc. is settling Clean Air Act violations with the U.S. Justice Department by paying a $52 million fine and destroying old engines to prevent oxides of nitrogen (NOx) pollution from fouling the atmosphere.

Navistar, now a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG’s Traton Group, has borne the burden of deciding against using the selective catalyst reduction (SCR) form of emissions control that other truck makers adopted following tougher pollution rules going into effect in 2010.

Judge delays trial date in TQL overtime class-action lawsuit

The long-awaited trial in the overtime compensation class-action lawsuit brought by former Total Quality Logistics (TQL) employees has been pushed back because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bench trial was scheduled to start on July 13. 

However, Bruce H. Meizlish, the lead attorney from Cincinnati, representing former TQL employees in the class-action complaint, says a hearing on recently filed motions will be held on that date.
