CLIA appoints Kelly Craighead as President and CEO

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) announced that its Global Executive Committee has appointed Kelly Craighead as President and Chief Executive Officer as from 1 January 2019.

Kelly Craighead has spent over 15 years in the public and private sectors, recently serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Travel and Tourism in the US Department of Commerce where she advanced travel and tourism priorities within the Administration and with Congress.

Dubrovnik announces limit on cruise ship arrivals

The Croatian city of Dubrovnik announced the launch of new measures in order to manage overtourism from cruising. Namely, more and more tourist are choosing to cruise in Dubrovnik, causing congestion. As a result, the city decided to limit the cruise ships docking at its piers to two, beginning next year.

The two cruise ships docking mean that a total of 5,000  visitors will be allowed into Dubrovnik per day.
