UK MAIB: There was no agreed plan before CMA CGM Centaurus heavily hit pier

The UK MAIB issued an investigation report on the allision of the UK-registered container ship ‘CMA CGM Centaurus’ with the quay that resulted in collapse of a shore crane and subsequent injury of 10 persons. MAIB noted that many of the factors in this accident can be attributed to a focus on completing acts of pilotage as quickly as possible.

CMA CGM stake in Ceva ‘is no threat to the forwarders’

CMA CGM’s investment into Ceva Logistics is not a threat to forwarder-controlled ocean freight, according to Nicolas Sartini, CEO of subsidiary carrier APL.

Empty Repositioning Surcharge in Turkish ports

CMA CGM gradually pushing up its its stake in Ceva Logistics

CMA CGM has increased its holding in Ceva Logistics to 33%, following the latter’s rejection of a takeover bid by DSV last week.
The increase had been expected after Ceva rejected DSV and CMA CGM indicated that it was considering increasing its stake.
