CNC Line retakes slots on South Korea-Thailand service

CMA CGM’s subsidiary CNC Line will take slots again on the service between South Korea and Thailand, which is operated by CK Line, KMTC and Namsung Shipping.

The three ocean carriers are each deploying a ship with a capacity of 1,800 TEUs.

CNC Line-operated boxship grounds after hitting Busan breakwater

A boxship operated by CMA CGM’s intra-Asia subsidiary CNC Line remains anchored in Busan after running aground on 28 July.

According to the Korea Coast Guard, the 1,900 TEU vessel Sky Challenge had knocked into a breakwater at 2.05 am local time, while attempting to berth. The impact caused Sky Challenge to be grounded.

S&P Global’s vessel-tracking data shows that Sky Challenge had just been bunkered in the South Korean port.

CNC Line launches new service between Indonesia, China and South Korea

CNC Line has announced the introduction of a new service , called KCI, a weekly service directly linking Indonesia with South China and South Korea.

KCI said it will need six days to transit from the port of Surabaya in Indonesia to the port of Shekou in China.

CNC Line’s KCI will commence on 25 March with the following port rotation in an one-way rotation:

Jakarta (Indonesia) – Surabaya (Indonesia) – Shekou (China) – Xiamen (China) – Busan (South Korea)

Bicycle components cause container fire on CNC Line ship

A ship operated by CMA CGM’s intra-Asia arm CNC Line had to make an emergency stop at Taiwan’s Taichung port after a fire broke out in a container carrying used bicycles.
