ACI Boats wins order to build 4 fishing vessels for American Samoa

Port Townsend, Wash., based ACI Boats reports that it has been awarded a $3 million dollar contract by American Samoa’s Departmentnt of Commerce for four “Super Alia” commercial fishing vessels.

All four boats will be 38 foot x 14 foot semi-displacement catamarans, designed by ACI Boats and Nordland, Wash., based Coastwise Marine Design.

Jeanerette, La, headquartered Metal Shark has been awarded a contract to build a new vehicle ferry for Fire Island Ferries. McCarthy starts work on $57.3 million Texas port project

McCarthy Building Companies has started work on Phase 2 of the Main Street Terminal 1 project at the Port of Beaumont in Texas.

This follows approval by the port’s Board of Commissioners of McCarthy’s $57.3 million construction bid for the project, which is aimed at increasing the port’s general cargo handling capacity by more than 15%.
