Georgia port tops US ro-ro gateways

The Port of Brunswick, Georgia, was the top U.S. port for vehicles in 2024.

Brunswick achieved a record year, totaling 901,912 units of autos and heavy equipment, up 13.3% and 160% y/y, respectively.

Port of Brunswick handles over 77,000 Ro/Ro units in March

In March, Colonel’s Island Terminal at the Port of Brunswick maintained its remarkable performance, processing 77,236 units of Roll-on/Roll-off cargo.

This marks a notable uptick of 13,438 units or 21% compared to the corresponding period last year.

Nissan steering imports through Port of Brunswick

The Georgia Ports Authority announced Tuesday that Nissan North America has chosen the Port of Brunswick as a new point of entry to serve U.S. markets. 

Nissan North America joins two dozen other auto manufacturers at Colonel’s Island, according to the GPA, which said the 1,700-acre terminal provides immediate access to Interstate 95 and from there, I-10 and I-16.
