World’s Largest Plug-In Hybrid Marine Vessel Chooses Exxonmobil’s Mobilgard™ ADL 40 Engine Oil

ExxonMobil is supplying Mobilgard ADL 40 engine oil for Color Hybrid, Color Line’s latest addition to its fleet of ferries. The vessel is the world’s largest plug-in battery hybrid ship and was recently named ‘ship of the year 2019’ by Nor-Shipping.

The vessel, which is already in service between Sandefjord, Norway, and Strömstad, Sweden, is capable of carrying 2,000 passengers and 500 cars. It combines four conventional Rolls-Royce Bergen B33:45L in-line diesel engines with electric propulsion.

Color Hybrid Naming

The ‘Color Hybrid’ was named on 23 August in Sandefjord. The lady sponsor, the prime minister of Norway, Erna Solberg, made an appearance on the screen for a virtual naming of the vessel, with minister Jan Tore Sanner smashing the champagne bottle at the ship’s side.

Στο νερό το μεγαλύτερο υβριδικό ferry του κόσμου

Την Πέμπτη 1 Αυγούστου παραδόθηκε από τα νορβηγικά ναυπηγεία Ulstein Verft στην Color Line το μεγαλύτερο plug-in υβριδικό πλοίο με το όνομα «Color Hybrid».

Το «Color Hybrid» θα κινείται με τη χρήση μπαταριών και περιλαμβάνει ουσιαστικά όλες τις καινοτόμες και φιλικές προς το περιβάλλον λύσεις για την μείωση του θορύβου και των αέριων εκπομπών. Το νεότευκτο υβριδικό ferry έχει μήκος 160 μέτρων, πλάτος 27,1 μέτρων ενώ έχει τη δυνατότητα να φιλοξενεί έως και 2000 επιβάτες και 500 αυτοκίνητα.
