On Friday, Aug. 28, the new tug Breaker II completed its delivery voyage to the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant, operated by the New York Power Authority, the nation’s largest state power organization.

The 56’x18’5″x6’9″, twin-screw tug with a 4’6″ draft, was designed by Bristol Harbor Group, Bristol, R.I. and was constructed at the Blount Boats facility, Warren, R.I.

Austal USA successfully completes sea trails for Navy’s Expeditionary Fast Transport 12

Austal USA and the Navy’s Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) program successfully completed integrated trials on the future Newport (EPF 12), in the Gulf of Mexico. The 337’10″x93″6″ ship is now ready to be delivered to the Navy.

Austal USA has delivered 11 EPFs and has two more under construction, including EPF 12, at its Mobile, Ala., facility. The Spearhead-class EPF is currently providing high-speed, high-payload transport capability to fleet and combatant commanders.

Corps’ Chicago regulatory branch completed over 1,700 permit actions in 2019
