Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg takes delivery of three new Konecranes RTGs for container handling

It is the first batch of five new rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTG) to be delivered this year under the programme for development of the terminal’s production infrastructure. The fleet of the terminal’s container yard equipment will thus be expanded to 24 RTGs in 2020.

Container volume in CTSP grew by 12%

In 2018, exports totaled 373,600 TEUs, +5% versus the result of 2017. Imports grew by 21% to 348,500 TEUs.

In May, the terminal handed 73,000 TEUs, which is a record high monthly result of CTSP.

In 2018, the number of calls totaled 540 with average shipload of 1,337 TEUs (up 27% versus 1,087 TEUs in 2017). Container shipments by railway transport accounted for 26% of the terminal’s total cargo throughput.

CTSP shows increased numbers

In January-September 2018, Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg CJSC (CTSP, a company of UCL Holding) handled 550,300 TEUs, which is 15.5% more than in the same period of 2017.

In 9M’2018, imports via the terminal reached 264,600 TEUs (up 23.5% vs 9M’2017) including 175,600 TEUs of loaded containers.

Exports totaled 285,700 TEUs (up 9%, year-on-year) including 210,700 TEUs of loaded containers.

In the 9-months period, the number of calls totaled 423 with average shipload of 1,300 TEUs.
