Direct container traffic between Taiwan and China totaled 2,492,372 TEU in 2019, down 2.86% compared to 2,565,638 TEU, according to statistics compiled by Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).

Container trade between South Korea and China grew 5.1% from the previous year to 3,176,719 TEUs in 2019, despite concern over a decline in freight movement due to the trade friction between the U.S. and China, according to statistics compiled by the Yellow Sea Liner Shipping Council (YSLSC). Japan’s int’l container trade grows 8.8%

A total of 19.48 million tons of containers were imported to and exported from Japan in November 2018, growing 8.8% from the corresponding month of 2013, unveiled by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) on Wednesday, July 3.
