Shandong Hi-Speed Group’s new Shandong-Europe Express train from Jinan, China arrived in Hamburg’s Billwerder Terminal for the first time on 30 April 2020. The next departures from Jinan are scheduled for 16 and 30 May.

FESCO launches new intra-Russia rail service

FESCO Transportation Group earlier in February launched FESCO Ob Amur Shuttle – a container train connecting Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk.

As planned, the trains will depart once a week from Novosibirsk-Vostochniy station. Transit time to the destination at Krasnaya Rechka (Red River) station is 6 days. Mainly FESCO Ob Amur Shuttle will be transporting consumer goods. Its planned transportation volume is 450 TEU per month.

Port of Felixstowe expands its rail network

A new daily rail service has been introduced at Hutchison Ports Port of Felixstowe. The new connection, the 36th daily rail service from the UK’s largest container port, runs to Maritime Transport’s newly opened East Midlands Gateway.

The new service caters for ever-growing demand for rail at Felixstowe and follows hot on the heels of two new rail services to iPort Rossington and Hams Hall introduced from the port in the latter part of 2019.

Lineas doubles its train capacity to reduce Oosterweel traffic jams

To lessen the impact of the Oosterweel works on Belgian mobility, rail freight operator Lineas is doubling the capacity on its trains in and out of Antwerp. This doubling means the number of containers that can be removed from traffic and put on the railways will increase from 2,600 to 5,300 a week.

Vietnam Railways launches new rail service

Vietnam Railways (VNR) has launched a container freight train service running between Yen Vien Station in Hanoi and Song Than Station in Binh Duong province with one trip taking 40 hours.

The train from Yen Vien Station departs at 7:35 and the train from Song Than Station departs at 6:15.

There will be five trains a week in each direction on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

During its journey, the trains will stop at Gia Lam and Kim Lien Stations to load and unload goods.

German rail operator starts in Rotterdam

A new party has entered the Dutch rail freight market. Boxxpress, the traction supplier of intermodal shuttle operators ERS railways, Eurogate and TX Logistik, operated its first container train from Rotterdam to Munich on 1 July.

RZD Logistics launches China-Russia service

JSC RZD Logistics along with its subsidiary company Far East Land Bridge (FELB) has launched regular railway shipments from Dongguan (Guangdong province, China) to Vorsino (Kaluga region, Russia). Previously, the departure point of container trains from this province was the city of Guangzhou. New Belarusian Railways’ service in Europe
