Dae Sun receives US$32 million in new capital to secure boxship orderbook

South Korean shipbuilder Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering has received a capital injection of over US$32 million from its new owner Dongil Steel and a new investor, BNK Financial Group, to ensure that it can complete its massive container ship orderbook.

Briese Schiffahrts makes boxship order debut at Huangpu Wenchong

German tonnage provider Briese Schiffahrts has made its maiden order for container ship newbuildings at China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC)’s Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding with an order of four 1,900TEU ships, for delivery in 2023.

Cosmoship orders up to four boxships at Huangpu Wenchong, says an article published Seatrade Maritime News.

About the deal

The deal, jointly signed by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, CSSC China Shipbuilding Trading and the Greek ship owner Cosmoship, consists of firm orders for two 1,500 teu boxships and an option for another two ships of the same design.

The vessels are in 171.98 metres length, 24.29 metres width and 13.6 metres depth.
