Nearly 7 out of 10 ports with inland barge operations indicate that there are no extra
delays during the past week due to changes in call procedures (e.g. hygiene inspections,
distancing of workforce, disruption of port or related services), while some 2 out of 10 ports

Florens sees upsurge in container demand

Container lessor Florens Asset Management Company (Florens) has reported a surge in container orders at its factory in China’s Lianyungang Port, since Chinese ports resumed normal operations in late March 2020.

Five week delay of virus effects on European ports

The coronavirus pandemic has significantly affected the Port of Rotterdam, which reported a 9.3% drop in first quarter throughput compared to the same period last year.

A surprise result when compared to the Port of Anwerp statistics, which seems to have ridden the Covid-19 crisis for now. Antwerp marked a 4% growth in total freight volumes in the first quarter.
