Crowley acquires mooring services provider Main Line

Crowley reports that it has expanded its harbor services capabilities through the acquisition of Main Line Inc., a vessel mooring company based in Seattle, effective Jan. 1.

Crowley says that the addition of Main Line will provide Crowley customers calling on the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, Wash., with a comprehensive solution for their vessel mooring and ship assist needs.

Crowley takes delivery of Progress, largest-yet U.S.-flag LNG bunker barge

Crowley has taken delivery of the LNG bunker barge Progress from Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, Sturgeon Bay, Wis. At 12,000 cubic meters capacity and with a length of 430 feet, it is the largest Jones Act compliant LNG bunker barge thus far built.

The Progress will be operated by Crowley under long term charter to Shell NA LNG LLC and will expand shipowners’ access to LNG at the Port of Savannah, Ga., on final commissioning there this month.

Panama grants Crowley permit for Panama Canal LNG bunkering

Crowley has received the first permit issued by the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) to provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering services on the Pacific side of the Panama Canal.
