CSBC Corp. worker dies after falling into tanker cargo hold

A worker at Taiwanese shipbuilder CSBC Corporation died today (19 May), after falling into a 5-metre deep cargo hold in a products tanker that was being repaired in the shipbuilder’s Keelung yard.

More container ships go for repairs, maintenance, as freight market flattens

Management at Taiwanese shipbuilder CSBC Corp said that the normalisation of the container freight market means there is now more business for maintenance and repair work.

Taiwan-based shipbuilding company completes modifications to OOCL’s boxship

Taiwan’s premier shipbuilding company, CSBC Corp., recently completed modifications to a massive container ship owned by Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL).

The modification contract included the installation of a flue gas desulfurization system on the massive 13,000-TEU ship and took about a month and a half to complete, reports the Liberty Times. The ship docked on May 22, and the work was completed on Tuesday (July 9).
