The Coast Guard assisted Bahamian authorities in interdicting 22 Cuban migrants at Cay Sal Bank, Bahamas, Wednesday. A Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew located 22 Cuban migrants on land at Cay Sal Bank.

The Coast Guard Cutter Isaac Mayo (WPC-1112) crew embarked the 21 adult Cuban males and one adult female and safely transferred one migrant to the Coast Guard Cutter Robert Yered (WPC-1104) crew.

USCG cutter catches fire in the Pacific

The 418′ U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Waesche (WMSL 751) arrived at Yokosuka, Japan on Wednesday after combatting a shipboard engineering fire on Sept. 20, during a scheduled deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet’s area of operations.

USCG cutter returns home after $12.5 million drug bust

The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Tahoma returned to Kittery, Maine, Thursday after a 70-day counter-drug patrol in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

Tahoma’s crew seized approximately 700 lbs. of cocaine, valued at $12.5 million while working with an armed helicopter interdiction tactical squadron MH-65 aircraft on board.

The crew of Tahoma worked with several other Coast Guard units in the area to detain 27 suspected narcotics traffickers, and interdict 9,600 lbs. of cocaine and 640 lbs. of marijuana.

The U.S. District Court, Southern District of Alabama entered an order to auction off the retired U.S. Coast Guard cutter Bramble.

The U.S. Coast Guard has recycled more than 140,000 lbs. of concrete buoy sinkers on an artificial reef near Yarmouth, Mass.

U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Oak (WLB-211) and Aids to Navigation Team (ANT) Woods Hole, Mass., used the discontinued concrete sinkers to support the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries’ artificial reef program.
