Ναυτιλία: Μία κυβερνοεπίθεση κάθε 39 δευτερόλεπτα

Σε άνοδο φαίνεται πως βρίσκονται οι κυβερνοεπιθέσεις στη ναυτιλία, ενώ μάλιστα καθίστανται πιο σύνθετες.

Σύμφωνα με δηλώσεις του κ. Nielsen, συνιδρυτή της Oriani Hellas, επικρατεί έλλειψη επίγνωσης του κινδύνου που ενέχουν οι κυβερνοεπιθέσεις για τη ναυτιλία.

Όπως ανέφερε χαρακτηριστικά ο κ. Nielsen, το 2021 κατεγράφη άνοδος 33% στις κυβερνοεπιθέσεις με στόχο πλοία ή ναυτιλιακές εταιρείες. Μάλιστα, κάθε 39 δευτερόλεπτα λάμβανε χώρα μία κυβερνοεπίθεση.

Maritime Industry Pays Average $3 Million Ransom In Cyberattacks: CyberOwl, HFW Report

New research has found that where cyberattacks in the maritime industry lead to a ransom payment, shipowners pay more than $3 million on average to the perpetrators. Breaking: Marten Transport falls victim to possible cyberattack

Wisconsin-based truckload carrier Marten Transportwas targeted in an apparent cyberattack that knocked out its operating system around 2:30 p.m. CDT on Sunday, according to a source familiar with the matter.

CMA CGM Confirms Data Leak In New Cyber Attack

CMA CGM reported that a leak of data on limited customer information (first and last names, employer, position, email address and phone number) has been detected during their surveillance operations on the Group’s APIs. Their IT teams immediately developed and installed security patches.

A cyber attack has caused disruptions in container operations at the South African port of Cape Town. The busiest shipping terminal of sub-Saharan Africa, Durban, had been greatly impacted.

Navistar hit by cyberattack but ‘minimizing potential impact’

Navistar International Corp. (NYSE: NAV) told the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday that it was hit by a cyberattack in late May. 

The Lisle, Illinois-based truck and bus manufacturer said it is “minimizing potential impact” by working with third-party cybersecurity experts and federal law enforcement.
