Brunvoll thrusters selected for three new Maran Tankers shuttle tankers

Brunvoll has won an order to supply a comprehensive package of thrusters for three Suezmax DP2 shuttle tankers under construction at South Korea’s Daehan Shipbuilding for Angelicoussis Group’s Maran Tankers Management Inc,

Brunvoll’s delivery for each of the three vessels consists of one AR100 and two AR115 retractable azimuth thrusters, one FU100 and one FU115 tunnel thrusters.

The combined power output of all the thrusters for each vessel is above 13,000 kW.

Danaos orders four 7,200 TEU container vessels

Greek ship owner Danaos Corporation has confirmed an order of four 7,200 TEU container ships at the South Korean shipyard, Daehan Shipbuilding.

The new vessels are expected to be delivered to Danaos in the first half of 2024, while this will be the first post-panamax ship order of Daehan Shipbuilding, which had specialised in building Aframax oil tankers.

Massive MSC newbuilding plan presents opportunity for mid-tier shipyards

As major shipyards are more or less booked till 2025, mid-tier shipbuilders are eyeing a slice of the pie as MSC is seeking to construct two dozen 8,000 TEU container ships.

Reportedly, MSC has contacted every shipyard in South Korea and China, but few can offer delivery dates before the end of 2025. Ships of such a size are now valued at around US$117 million each.

Daehan Shipbuilding wins maiden container ship order

South Korean mid-sized shipbuilder Daehan Shipbuilding has entered the container ship segment after winning orders for up to four 1,000TEU ships from Pan Ocean.

South Korea’s largest dry bulk carrier operator Pan Ocean has been expanding its container shipping business, which concentrates on intra-Asia routes, in line with the red-hot market.
