Two Peterbilt trucks with ferris wheel in background

Paccar Inc. is recalling more than 17,600 Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks from 2018-2020 because axle steer arm fasteners that attach the steer arm to the steering knuckle may fail.

Hyliion plans bigger battery to stay relevant in electric truck race

At risk of ceding ground in the race to battery-electric trucks, Hyliion Holdings will launch its natural gas generator-powered hybrid powertrain with 75 miles of electric range, enough to qualify the Hypertruck ERX for zero-emission credits in California.

“We saw it as a way that we can be relevant in the push that the government is having towards zero-emission vehicles,” CEO Thomas Healy told FreightWaves in an interview on Wednesday. “We can participate in that but still offer all the same...

Dana raises sales and profit estimates after strong Q1 results

Commercial vehicle driveline supplier Dana Inc. (NYSE: DAN) beat top and bottom line analyst expectations in Q1 despite supply chain constraints and rising commodity prices.

The Maumee, Ohio-based company experienced less exposure to the global semiconductor shortage than it expected.

“We saw our customers diverting chips toward the key truck platforms that we produce,” Jonathan Collins, Dana’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, said on the company’s earnings call Wednesday.
