Israeli carrier Zim has confirmed that its chartered  and damage-stricken vessel Zim Kingston will depart its mooring at Constance Bank today, bound for Port Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
The company said the Danaos-owned vessel would remain at Nanaimo before it is moved to DP World’s Dukes Point Terminal late next week for the discharge of damaged and contaminated containers.

Danaos waits instructions for ZIM Kingston’s next moves

ZIM Kingston fire under control, firefighters on board to eliminate remaining hot spots

Following the permission by the Canadian Coastguard, all the firefighters and seven members of the crew have now boarded the 4,253TEU ZIM Kingston, which on 22 October lost around 40 boxes at sea and suffered a fire incident off the Canadian coast.

The 4,253TEU boxship, ZIM Kingston suffered a severe fire incident on Friday, 22 October, after two damaged containers caught fire on board the vessel near Canada.
