Maersk and Decathlon join forces to upgrade “last-mile” service in Singapore

A.P. Moller – Maersk and Decathlon are expanding their cooperation. Following Decathlon’s 2Hour Click & Collect service, the two companies are now aiming to optimise the Decathlon’s “last mile” delivery in Singapore.

With the partnership covering all Decathlon orders, Maersk will seek to enhance Decathlon’s E-commerce capacity by providing end to end logistics solutions as a dedicated partner in this area as well as in the Decathlon delivery area.

Warehouse robotics firm Exotec raises $335M, reaches $2B valuation

Operating in a market that is expected to grow at double-digit rates for the next five years to reach $9.1 billion by 2026 provides plenty of room for investment.

Exotec is the latest to benefit, closing a $335 million series D funding round led by the Growth Equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management with follow-on investments from 83North and Dell Technologies Capital.

Maersk starts new intercontinental service for Decathlon

A.P. Moller – Maersk has arranged the first block train service dedicated to the global sporting goods retailer Decathlon, from Vietnam to Europe.

Loaded with 23 40-feet containers with Decathlon products, the train left the Vietnamese capital Hanoi on 29 July and is heading towards Zhengzhou in China.

Geek+ surpasses 20,000 autonomous robots deployed

Autonomous mobile robotics (AMR) company Geek+ announced it has now deployed 20,000 robots across the globe.

The Beijing-based company has automated warehouses for the likes of Circle K, Walmart, Nike, Decathlon and more in the past two years. It opened U.S. offices in February 2020 and now operates in 30 countries.

Retailers Ariat, Decathlon latest to adopt Exotec robotics

Footwear retailer Ariat and Decathlon, the largest sporting goods retailer in the world, will each deploy the Skypod robotics system from Exotec.
