Flexport goes deeper with personalized experiences for importers, exporters

Flexport, the San Francisco-based digital freight forwarder, rolled out an array of platform upgrades to its global customer base of about 10,000 shippers Thursday.

The changes to the Flexport’s platform create more flexibility in the user experience. Bezos among investors in UK freight startup Beacon

Beacon, a U.K.-based freight forwarding and supply chain finance startup, has raised over $15 million in its Series A investment, led by venture capital firm 8VC and including investors like Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon.

Bezos is not the first high-profile investor to be interested in Beacon. The company also counts executives from Uber, Google and Amazon among its backers, as well as venture firms like Neo, Red Sea Ventures, Manta Ray and FJ Labs.

DHL unveils myDHLi, its online ‘customer window’ to shipment management

Flexport just another forwarder forced to adapt quickly to market changes

Investors pour millions into logistics innovators developing the latest tech

Investors are continuing to back innovation in logistics, with at least three new companies receiving funding this week.
ClearMetal, which offers a “Continuous Delivery Experience” (CDX) platform, has received $15m from Palo Alto-based Eclipse Ventures in a funding round, bringing its total capital investment to $31m.
