XPO Logistics Inc. announced it will be closing a distribution center in San Antonio, after one of its customers did not renew a contract.

The permanent closure of XPO’s facility at 6707 Interstate 10 East will result in 29 employees being laid off, according to a notice filed with the Texas Workforce Commission Monday.

86 laid off as pecan processor, distributor to close Texas facility

Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts Inc. is permanently closing its processing and distribution facility in El Paso, Texas, according to a notice sent to state officials Friday.

The Alpharetta, Georgia-based peanut and tree nut processing company will lay off 86 employees and “will be closing entirely and permanently ceasing operations,” according to documents filed with the Texas Workforce Commission. The facility’s last day is scheduled for Dec. 15, 2021.

Walmart is building an $800 million e-commerce site in Lancaster, Texas, aimed at supporting booming online shopping growth in the area, according to a report Wednesday by The Dallas Morning News.

Plug power expands into e-commerce with Walmart.

Plug Power (NASDAQ: PLUG) has announced that its hydrogen and fuel cell solutions are expanding into Walmart e-commerce applications.
