Djibouti must pay DP World $500m after government loses legal battle over DCT

The government of Djibouti has been ordered by a London court to pay more than $500m in penalties to DP World for breaking exclusivity rights and non-payment of royalties to its part-owned subsidiary, Doraleh Container Terminal (DCT).

Maersk adds handling charges in Djibouti

Effective 1st April 2019, Maersk Djibouti SARL will start invoicing as part of the local charges to its customers a new line item referred to as “Recovery for Handling Imports or RHI”, which will be applied to all containers discharged from that date.
