DP World has won a further legal hearing against the Government of Djibouti over the Doraleh Container Terminal. A Tribunal of the London Court of International Arbitration ordered Djibouti to restore the rights and benefits under the 2006 Concession Agreement to DP World and Doraleh Container Terminal SA within two months, or pay damages.

DP World slams Djibouti for Doraleh terminal case

DP World announcement:

A decision to be taken later this week by the government of Djibouti to apply to the country’s high court to rule all previous international adjudications null and void is a complete disregard for and contravention of the global legal system and existing contracts.

The move is proof of Djibouti’s complete disregard for recognized legal practice and respect for contracts calling into question any investment in the country both now and in the future.

Djibouti must pay DP World $500m after government loses legal battle over DCT

The government of Djibouti has been ordered by a London court to pay more than $500m in penalties to DP World for breaking exclusivity rights and non-payment of royalties to its part-owned subsidiary, Doraleh Container Terminal (DCT).
