U.S. authorities say 19 men have been indicted as part of a drug-smuggling operation that involved large quantities of narcotics moved from Mexico across the U.S. and Canada by long-haul truckers.

The cross-border investigation dubbed “Operation Dead Hand” by the FBI led to the arrest of Roberto Scoppa, a Montreal man alleged by authorities to be a large-scale Canadian trafficker and Italian Mafia figure.

Agents find $15M in meth in cargo trucks entering from Mexico

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents in Laredo and Pharr, Texas, discovered almost 800 pounds of methamphetamine in two recent shipments arriving from Mexico.

The first case happened March 25 at Laredo’s World Trade Bridge. Agents found 367 pounds of alleged methamphetamine in a shipment of industrial magnets. The narcotics had a street value of $7.3 million.

Mexican police find $62M in drugs in abandoned truck near border

Mexican police found more than $62 million worth of narcotics hidden inside a tractor-trailer that was abandoned just south of the United States-Mexico border, according to the office of Juárez Mayor Armando Cabada.

Kuwait finds 10 mln Tamol pills in a container

Kuwait seized 10 million Tamol pills enlisted among narcotics that affect human mental condition, the Kuwaiti Customs Directorate General said on Friday, July 12.

Almost $400m of the drug ice seized at Sydney port

NSW Police have swooped on a massive haul of ice, seizing almost $400m worth of the drug that was bound for the streets.

Strike Force Ferguson was set up to investigate international contract networks in the supply of drugs in Australia.
