Second phase of Colombo East Container Terminal construction begins

President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa and prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksa have announced the commencement of construction work for the second phase of the East Container Terminal (ECT) at the Colombo Port.

Japan, India to support Sri Lanka in developing East Container Terminal

The government is gearing to fast-track the development of East Container Terminal (ECT) at the Port of Colombo jointly with Japan and India with the setting up of a terminal operating company (TOC), ensuring that the full ownership of ECT will remain with Sri Lanka.
