Dutra Group awards dredge contract to Eastern Shipbuilding

San Rafael, Calif.-based The Dutra Group announced March 21 the issuance of a Notice to Proceed for the new-build construction of a 10,464-cubic-yard Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge (TSHD) the Adele at Eastern Shipbuilding Group Inc.

The Adele will be constructed at Eastern Shipbuilding Group’s Allanton and Port St. Joe, Fla., facilities. Delivery is scheduled for late 2028. The Adele will join The Dutra Group’s 9,870-cubic-yard TSHD Stuyvesant serving our nation’s essential waterways.

ESG delivers new ferry Long Island

Panama City, Fla.-headquartered Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. (ESG) has successfully delivered the ferry Long Island (ESG Hull 228), a newly constructed passenger and auto ferry, to the Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company, a subsidiary of McAllister Towing.

The vessel, launched by ESG in May, is designed to provide seamless transportation between Bridgeport, Conn., and Port Jefferson, N.Y., across Long Island Sound, is the latest addition to the company’s fleet.
