Panama City, Fla. –based Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) has marked a significant milestone with the official steel cutting for the new Fisher Island ferry, Falcon, at its Allanton shipyard. Attending the event were members of the Fisher Island Community Association, Inc. (FICA) team. This state-of-the-art ferry is slated for delivery in the spring of 2026.

Technology group Wärtsilä has entered into a collaboration agreement with Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG), a US-based naval architecture and marine engineering firm, to further develop EBDG’s Clean Harbor Alternative Mobile Power (CHAMP) Barge design.
