Poland’s Baltic Hub welcomes multiple new liner services

Baltic Hub, the largest and fastest-growing container terminal complex in the Baltic Sea, announced a series of new services that will start calling its facilities in Gdansk, Poland, during the next weeks and months of the year.

Starting at the end of March, the terminal hub will receive two weekly calls from Maersk vessels as part of the newly established Gemini Alliance network. Additionally, MSC will launch two new weekly services in early April.

NWSA February box throughput rise by 14pc

THE Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) announced that its February 2025 container volumes hit 257,705 TEU, up 13.7 per cent from February 2024. According to the recent statistics from NWSA, full foreign imports surged 27.9 per cent, marking a full year of straight month-over-month (MoM) growth and placing the gateway 4.8 per cent above its five-year average for the month. Port of Savannah sets record container, rail and truck moves in February

The Georgia Ports Authority said the Port of Savannah moved 479,850 twenty-foot equivalent units, the busiest February on record and a 6% increase from the same month a year ago.

Authority President and Chief Executive Griff Lynch in a release credited the surge to the port’s role as a gateway to the Southeast. Frontloading by importers ahead of planned U.S. tariffs also helped boost U.S. container volumes across major import hubs.
