Western Australia’s Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) announced it is withdrawing its revised GHG guidelines from application. EPA’s Environmental Factor Guidance released in early March, aimed to help proponents of significant proposals in the State prepare for an environmental assessment by the EPA.

US EPA provides ports of NY/NJ with $2 million to reduce air pollution

US EPA, Environmental Protection Agency, announced that it has provided the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey with $2 million to replace up to 80 model year 2006 and older short-haul trucks that service Port Authority facilities with cleaner, newer model year trucks by offering truckers up to 50% of the cost to scrap and replace each vehicle up to $25,000.

EPA awards Port of Baltimore with $2.4m for engine and equipment boost

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore with US $2.4 million to repower marine engines and upgrade equipment that is used to move cargo to reduce emissions at the port. The EPA funding comes from a ‘Diesel Emission Reduction Act’ grant.

US EPA requires Honolulu boatyard to reduce pollution

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has reached an agreement with ship repair facility Keehi Marine, Inc. to reduce pollution in its stormwater discharges to Keehi Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean. By November, the Honolulu boatyard must ensure that discharges of copper, lead, zinc, and other pollutants meet the requirements of its state stormwater discharge permit.
