From 7 to 14 June 2018, Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority carried out an audit of Equinor’s operations at Kristin platform. Watch: First unmanned platform starts production off Norway

Johan Sverdrup now officially receives power from shore

On October 9, the Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Kjell-Børge Freiberg, officially opened the power-from-shore solution which will provide the Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea with electricity for more than 50 years.

The development of Johan Sverdrup in the North Sea has been through the busiest installation campaign ever for a field in the North Sea. With electric power supplied from shore Johan Sverdrup operations can run without the use of fossil fuels.

Petrobras, Equinor assess offshore wind in Brazil

Brazilian energy major Petrobras (Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Norwegian oil major Equinor to evaluate a joint business development in the offshore wind energy industry in Brazil.
