PSA Belgium accelerates shore power installation at Europe Terminal

PSA Belgium announced that its Europa Terminal at the port of Antwerp-Bruges will have an advanced shore power installation by 2026.

With a capacity of 7.5 megawatts, up to 100 container ships will be able to switch to green power each year, resulting in a CO2 reduction of more than 10,300 tons, which is equivalent to the annual emissions of about 625 average households in Europe.

New temporary barge quay ready as upgrade project works commence at Antwerp’s Europa Terminal

The first phase of the renewal of Antwerp’s Europa Terminal is underway with a new barge quay having been constructed.

The purpose of this construction is to keep offering the same level of service during the extensive works and to continue to encourage the modal shift.

New cranes to increase Antwerp’s Europa Terminal capacity and reduce emissions

Belgian terminal operator PSA Antwerp has signed an agreement with Austrian crane manufacturer Kuenz and global technology provider in electrification and automation ABB to order 14 new automated stacking cranes (ASCs) for Europa Terminal at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.

Port of Antwerp-Bruges, PSA Antwerp give green light for box terminal renewal

Port of Antwerp-Bruges and PSA Antwerp approved the renewal of the quayside and terminal at Europa Terminal.

The works, which will take about nine years and be carried out in three phases, will ensure that the latest generation of container ships can continue to call at Antwerp, Belgium, according to a statement.
