Port of Riga CEO elected as new ESPO chair

The General Assembly of the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) has unanimously elected Ansis Zeltiņš as its new Chair. Zeltiņš, who has served as CEO of the Freeport of Riga Authority since 2017, brings over 20 years of maritime industry experience.

Jordan’s container terminal get PERS-certified

The European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) congratulates Aqaba Container Terminal in Jordan for being certified through the EcoPorts’ environmental management standard (PERS).

Aqaba joined the EcoPorts’ network in 2013 and is PERS-certified for the third time, demonstrating the efforts of the Jordan port in protecting the Jordanian coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea marine ecosystems.
