Timing is everything, but as international ocean container lines ready the February launch of reorganized alliances and vessel-sharing agreements, a miasma of global events is sure to put pressure on carefully crafted business plans.

Evergreen announces suspension of operations at Iskenderun port due to severe earthquake damage

Evergreen Line has suspended all services at the port of Iskenderun due to the severe earthquake that devastated regions in Türkiye and Syria on Monday, 6 February 2023.

One Of World’s Largest 24,000TEU Ultra Large Container Carriers Undocked In Shanghai

On 19 May, one of the world’s largest 24000 TEU Ultra Large Container Carriers (ULCC) built by Hudong-Zhonghua was undocked successfully in Changxing Shipbuilding Base. On the same day itself, another 13000-ton multipurpose heavy lift vessel No. 12 had been named and delivered at Pudong.

The 24000TEU ULCC No. 2, was designed by Hudong-Zhonghua. It has a total length of 399.99 meters, and a width of 61.5 meters. Its cargo hold depth is 33.2 meters. The deck area is 24,000 square meters.

A giant container vessel that was stuck in the Chesapeake Bay for over five weeks is on the go, once again. The Ever Forward cargo vessel reached Annapolis at about 10 am on Sunday. Here, it is going to be anchored till it resumes its journey to Baltimore, the US. Coast Guard reported to WBAL-TV.

It has been a little more than three weeks since a massive cargo vessel had run aground in the Chesapeake Bay and it will have to be unloaded, the US Coast Guard reported.
