A UPS jet with brown-white paint scheme lifts of runway.

UPS will buy eight more 767-300 freighters from Boeing to support domestic and international demand for parcel shipping, driven by e-commerce, and fleet replenishment, the companies announced Monday.

The order comes nine months after Atlanta-based UPS (NYSE: UPS) placed an order for 19 of the Boeing (NYSE: BA) cargo jets and will increase UPS’ 767 fleet to 108 aircraft.

“This is a very versatile aircraft that we operate across every region of the globe,” said Nando Cesarone, UPS executive vice...

The opening of a large regional hub in Atlanta this year is the next big step by DHL Express to expand its U.S. air network — but the growth doesn’t stop there. A new hub in Ontario, California, and a gateway in Texas to support a massive increase in e-commerce shipments also are part of DHL’s ambitious plans, the top executive in the U.S. told American Shipper.

Hundreds of grams of methamphetamine were found stuffed inside peanut shells at an express consignment hub in Memphis, Tennessee, officials said Monday.

On June 29, CBP officers using an X-ray device said they spotted “suspicious anomalies” within a shipment labeled as “regional bread roasted peanuts regional dust sweet made of corn.”

CBP officers reportedly cracked open the peanuts and found a white crystal substance – later determined to be methamphetamine – concealed inside the shells.

A DHL Express air logistics hub that opened in mid-September has helped Milan Malpensa Airport stabilize freight business amid declining volumes from reduced passenger flights and further cement its market-leading position for air cargo in Italy.

A $123.2 million investment turned what had been a gateway operation since 2014, with an average of four flights per day, into DHL’s fourth European hub. The dual facility integrates air operations and a parcel center with last-mile pickup and delivery...
