The Britannia P&I Club, in its BSafe campaign, reports the incident where an AB had a fatal fall from a portable ladder onboard a product tanker.

Sandy Hook Pilots captain dies in fall

Timothy Murray died Wednesday.

A Sandy Hook Pilots Association captain died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a fall while boarding a vessel.

Timothy M. Murray had been piloting vessels in and out of the Port of New York and New Jersey for more than eight years. 

Murray reportedly fell from a pilot ladder while boarding a tanker inbound to the port at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was evacuated to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
