BETA Technologies raises $368M to fund electric aircraft development

The development trajectory of electric aircraft received a big boost on Tuesday when BETA Technologies announced it had raised $368 million in a private round of fundraising led by Fidelity Management & Research Company.

Additional investors included Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund and unnamed new and returning investors. The South Burlington, Vermont, company develops and manufactures electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and the associated recharging system.

Grab to secure $4.5B in new funding from $39.5B SPAC merger

Singapore-based Grab Holdings announced it will go public on the NASDAQ stock exchange through a merger with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Altimeter Growth Corp. (NASDAQ: AGC) in a deal that will value the company at approximately $39.5 billion.

AGC was off more than 5% in morning trading following the news. It closed Monday at $13.95.

TuSimple seeks to raise up to $1.5B in IPO stock sale

Autonomous truck software maker TuSimple is looking to raise as much as $1.5 billion in its initial public offering of stock.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday, the San Diego and Shanghai-based company said it would offer 38,851,350 shares at a maximum of $39 a share. Proceeds would be slightly more than $1.5 billion. Shares could sell for as little as $35 each. That would bring in about $1.36 billion, TuSimple said in the filing.

Digital convenience store goPuff raises $1.15B

GoPuff, a Philadelphia-based digital convenience store, announced Tuesday it raised $1.15 billion in a Series G round led by an existing investor, D1 Capital Partners. Other investors include Fidelity Management and Research Co., Baillie Gifford, Reinvent Capital, Luxor Capital and SoftBank Vision Fund 1.
