Carnival Corp orders three new — and big — ships for Carnival Cruise Line

The world’s largest cruise company, Miami-based Carnival Corporation & plc, today announced an order for a further three new ships. Ordered for its Carnival Cruise Line brand at Fincantieri, they will be a new class of vessel and, at nearly 230,000 grt, they will be large — and LNG-fueled

The agreement with Fincantieri provides for the design, engineering, and construction of the three ships, which will be delivered in the summers of 2029, 2031 and 2033, respectively.

Rem Offshore back at Vard for a third CSOV

Fosnavåg, Norway-headquartered Rem Offshore has signed a contract with Fincantieri Group member Vard covering the design and construction of a state-of-the-art CSOV. The vessel will be the third commissioning service operation vessel built by Vard for Rem offshore. The first two, Rem Power and Rem Wind, were delivered in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

Fincantieri signs agreement to build two new Crystal Cruises ships

In another sign that the cruise industry is bouncing back, Fincantieri and Crystal Cruises have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) covering the construction of two new 690-passenger cruise ships with an option for a third. Fincantieri says that it considers the value of the agreement to build the new Crystal Cruises ships, which is subject to financing and other terms, as “important” (worth between EUR 1 billion and EUR 2 billion).
