Carnival orders two new AIDA Cruises ships

Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world’s largest cruise company, reports that it has finalized an order with Fincantieri for two new ships for its German brand, AIDA Cruises, for a new class of mid-sized vessel. The agreement with Fincantieri provides for the design, engineering, and construction of these multi-fuel-capable ships, which will be delivered in the first quarter of fiscal years 2030 and 2032, respectively.

CRS releases new report on Constellation-class frigate program

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) on Dec. 19 released an updated report “Navy Constellation (FFG-62) Class Frigate Program: Background and Issues for Congress.”

The CRS reports provides a very detailed big picture view of the program but, with Congress ultimately calling the shots on what gets spent on any Navy shipbuilding program, it’s the “issues for Congress” part of the report that deserves special attention.
