ONE, LX Pantos in Boxlinks venture for US domestic intermodal

Liner operator Ocean Network Express (ONE) and South Korean forwarder LX Pantos announced a joint venture, Boxlinks, a new player offering end-to-end U.S. domestic intermodal transportation services. 

The joint venture will manage ONE’s inland-to-coastal domestic transport needs through a Domestic Reposition Program (DRP). 

“By leveraging empty containers for intermodal operations, Boxlinks aims to create new revenue streams while improving operational efficiency,” LX Pantos said in a release....

Report: DSV wins Schenker bidding

Schenker has been sold, but not to the U.S. private equity group vying for control of the German logistics provider.

Transport provider DSV of Denmark has emerged as the winning bidder, Reuters reported, in a deal worth 14 billion euros ($15.43 billion).

A consortium of private investors led by CVC Capital Partners of New York failed in its bid for Schenker, a unit of German railway Deutsche Bahn (DB).

Unlicensed operators wreak havoc in Latin American forwarding sector

“An incredible rise” in unlicensed, unregulated one-man forwarding operations is posing a threat to Latin America’s forwarding community.
Vice president of Interworld Freight Farouk Gomati told The Loadstar the surge in “effectively illegitimate” operators was chipping away at profit margins.
“In most Latin American countries the word loyalty between clients and forwarders doesn’t exist, they will drop you for $10,” he said.
