The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost eight points and now reads 2,420 with the Capes falling further and the rest gaining momentum as well as plus points. What will happen with the Wets? Can Biden change the course of history at the G7 meeting? Why there is still red tape and hype on Coronavirus’ Anathema? John Faraclas brief recap:

The BDI was down at 2,428 points – minus ten since last Friday June 4 as Capes’ fall was contained. Wets still the big issue. G7 and other meetings worldwide might reshape Planet Ocean but also surprise us all given unexpected  hiccups. Too much fuss over the causa proxima of the Coronavirus’ Anathema. John Faraclas’ brief recap:

The new global minimum tax rate, which is slowly coming together, is on collision course with the tonnage tax schemes, which most shipping companies are subject to today, says shipping lawyer and partner of London-based law firm Watson Farley, Richard Stephens.

Far reaching consequences

Gains for both Dry and Wet Markets amid global uncertainty

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) with the 2,213 points gained this morning (45 plus since last Friday the 23/8) is only 34 points away from equalising the end of Dec 2013 level of 2,247 points… The Geopolitics still a liability for all. John Faraclas’ brief daily recap:

Protesters spray-painted slogans attacking President Emmanuel Macron in the sleepy coastal resort of Dinard where the ministers were due to gather to set the agenda for their leaders at the annual big power summit in August.
