Aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77) is participating in the Juniper Oak, joint drills between Israel and the United States in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.

A sailor died aboard USS Leyte Gulf (CG-55) Thursday, the Navy announced Saturday.

Sonar Technician (Surface) 3rd Class Nicholas Woods died on Aug. 18 while aboard the ship, according to a Navy press release. He was 27.

While a cause of death is pending, a Navy official told USNI News that it appears that it was from a medical issue.
