The major Russian port and terminal operator Global Ports has announced its operational results for the second quarter and the first half of 2024.

In Q2 2024, the Russian marine container market continued its rapid recovery. Total container throughput at Russian marine terminals increased by 11.8% year-on-year (y-o-y) and 3.4% quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q) to 1.338 million TEUs.

Global Ports and Leningrad region partner to expand Ust-Luga Port capacity

Global Ports, Russia’s leading operator of marine container terminals and a part of the Delo Group has signed a cooperation agreement with the Government of the Leningrad Region at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024.

Global Ports publishes first quarter operational results

Global Ports has announced its operational results for the first quarter of 2024, during which the Russian container market experienced a notable growth of 17.7%, reaching 1,293,000 TEUs.

The Baltic basin witnessed a rapid recovery, with container throughput nearly doubling to 409,000 TEUs in Q1 2024. As a result, the Baltic basin’s share in the total Russian market surged to 32% from 19% a year earlier.

Global Ports strengthens Petrolesport operations with new terminal equipment

Global Ports, Russia’s major port and terminal operator, has purchased three reachstackers and eight terminal tractors for its multipurpose marine terminal Petrolesport in the Big port of Saint Petersburg.

The reachstackers were produced by China-based SANY equipment manufacturer and the terminal tractors were supplied by Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer SHACMAN.

Global Ports terminals handle 27,000 cars in April-September

In April-September 2023, the operator of marine container terminals Global Ports handled 27,000 cars at its St. Petersburg terminals. All the vehicles have been imported to Russia from China by sea and shipped in containers.

Transmasters starts using specialised fleet at FCT

First Container Terminal, part of Delo Group’s stevedoring holding Global Ports, handled the first vessel call of Honrise container ship of the foreign trade transport and forwarding company Transmasters.

Global Ports invests in new container handling equipment

Global Ports will equip its Far Eastern terminal Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC) with two new ship-to-shore cranes.

On 12 September, Global Ports signed a memorandum of intent with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Company (ZPMC) to buy portside container handling equipment.

FCT handles new boxship to deliver cargo between Russia and China via Northern Sea Route

First Container Terminal (FCT) in the Big Port of St. Petersburg, part of Russian container terminal operator Global Ports, handled the first container ship of the international shipping line Hainan Yangpu NewNew Shipping Co, which will pass through the Northern Sea Route (NSR) to China.

Global Ports reports severe container decline in 2022

Global Ports Investments PLC announced its operational results for the fourth quarter of 2022 and the full year of 2022.

In the previous year, the Group’s Consolidated Marine Container Throughput declined 37.1% year on year, to 992,000 TEUs.
