APM Terminals selects CareGo consortium for Rotterdam’s Maasvlakte II expansion

APM Terminals has awarded the civil works and electrification contract for the expansion of its Maasvlakte II (MVII) container terminal in Rotterdam, Netherlands, to the CareGo consortium, which includes ABB, Dura Vermeer, and GMB.

P&O Ferries lays off 1,100 staff as its passenger ferries go freight-only

UK transport unions have called on the government to offer financial support for the sector after P&O Ferries temporarily laid off around 1,100 workers last week.
The company said it was closing passenger services between the UK, Ireland and continental Europe and converting them to freight-only.
