Haropa offers loyalty cashback as dockers’ action continues

French port group Haropa, which includes leading French facility Le Havre, is to offer container shipping companies loyalty bonuses to encourage them to continue calling at the port despite ongoing industrial action.

Haropa, which groups the River Seine ports of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris, said that it was offering container shipping companies an “one-off commercial rebate” on their January and February port dues.

HAROPA reports historic record amid drop in maritime traffic

HAROPA, the port complex of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris, published the annual report for 2019, presenting a record on the Seine river, but also a drop in maritime traffic.

With a total of 90 million tonnes over the year, 2019 saw a 5% fall in maritime traffic, due to solid and liquid energy bulk due to both technical shutdowns on the Seine Valley refining units and the prospect of the end of activity at the Le Havre coal-fired power plant, according to a release.
