ABS, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Hyundai Global Service (HGS) have agreed on a framework for exchanging of Digitalization and Decarbonization (D&D) concepts to implement to existing and future designs.

Jotun signs with Hyundai Heavy for new, green marine paint

Greek marine coatings company Jotun announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the world’s largest shipbuilder, South Korean Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), for a new type of marine paint that reduces solvent emissions by up to 90%.

The signing took place between Jotun’s chairman Odd Gleditch and HHI’s Chief Executive Ka Sam-Hyun, during the South Korean President’s state visit to Norway in June.

Inmarsat partners with HGS to fast-track maritime digitalisation

Inmarsat signed a cooperation agreement with Hyundai Global Service (HGS); Thus, the latter is now able to offer ship owners and managers a digital total care solution route to maritime digitalisation.

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shareholders decided to vote in favour of the merger with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), despite strong workforce opposition this week. The merger will create a Korean megayard, which will be responsible for 21.2% of the global orderbook.
