Biden to meet with ports, labor on supply chain bottlenecks

“One of the challenges we’re having is the delay of goods getting through to our ports — that’s one of the bottlenecks in the supply chain,” Psaki said at a press conference on Tuesday....

Halloween has gone online: e-commerce sales to reach nearly $3B in 2021

Halloween ecommerce sales to reach nearly 3 billion dollars

Like the rest of the economy, Halloween has moved online.

In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, 52% of parents opted to shop in-store for children’s costumes, Statista said. Another 49% shopped in-store for candy, Statista also found.

The online crowd is growing in 2021, though. Data from Influence Central found that 55% of parents plan to shop online for their children’s costumes this year while just 42% plan to look for costumes in stores.

AEO’s acquisition of AirTerra melds separate parcel delivery visions

It took about 10 years for logistics industry veteran Brent Beabout to develop the concept behind AirTerra Inc., a Seattle-based parcel-delivery company that he founded in August 2020. But it took just 10 months in business for AirTerra to be acquired, and the company was taken out before it ever moved a package.

The unusual chain of events has history behind it. Several years ago, Beabout (pictured) and Shekar Natarajan, chief supply chain officer of Pittsburgh-based retailer AEO Inc. (NYSE:AEO)

In a report published Tuesday, Pacific Environment and Stand.earth also urged the U.S. government to go beyond its April pledge that required the ocean freight...
