DDG 121 sails away from Ingalls Shipbuilding

Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer Frank E. Petersen Jr. (DDG 121) departed from Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division on April 8. The destroyer will be commissioned next month in Charleston, South Carolina, before sailing to its homeport at Hawaii’s Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

Navy awards $41.9 million in Large Unmanned Surface Vessel study contracts

The Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded six companies contracts totaling $41,985,112 for studies of a Large Unmanned Surface Vessel.

Each contract includes an option for engineering support. If all options were exercised, the cumulative value for all awards would be $59,476,146

Huntington Ingalls gets $930.8 million contract for national security cutters

Just as the federal government headed toward a shutdown, Mississippi lawmakers announced Friday that the Coast Guard has awarded a $930.8 million contract for Huntington Ingalls to build two more national security cutters.
