Hutchison Ports-operated Port of Felixstowe welcomed the maiden call of Laura Maersk, the world’s first container ship to complete a voyage fuelled by green methanol.

Evergreen acquires minority stake in Rotterdam terminal

One of the major container shipping companies in Taiwan, Evergreen has reportedly acquired a 20% stake in the Euromax terminal of Rotterdam port in the Netherlands.

According to Alphaliner, the Hong Kong-based port operator Hutchison Ports seems to have sold the stake to the Taiwanese company for approximately €72.5 million (US$79 million).

The Chinese shipping giant COSCO also holds shares in the container terminal.

Jazan port receives first container ship call

One year after its inauguration, Hutchison Ports’ new multipurpose terminal at the port of Jazan in Saudi Arabia handled its first commercial container vessel.

The 900 TEU boxship Kota Rahmat, operated by Pacific International Lines (PIL), is deployed on the intra-Red Sea trade and became the first container ship to call the Saudi port.

Hongkong International Terminals invests US$10 million in solar panel-equipped quay cranes

Hutchison Ports Hongkong International Terminals (HIT) received two new quay cranes, after an investment of HK$78 million (US$10 million), which are Hong Kong’s first quay cranes equipped with solar panels on top of machinery house.

COSCO, Hutchison Ports and PSA in eBL agreement

Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN), Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), COSCO SHIPPING Lines, Hutchison Ports and PSA International have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enable paperless trade.

Port of Felixstowe introduces autonomous terminal tractors into container terminal operations
